Voter Information Publications Now Available!

WFC's Voter Information Publications (VIPs) are revised for the November 4 General Election! This year we created an individual VIP in PDF format for each of the 99 Assembly Districts in the state. The VIP for your Assembly District will contain only the names you will see on your district ballot. See below for additional instructions on using your VIP and information on finding your Assembly District.

A Few Tips:

a) To increase the size of the text both on the web page and on the pdf file, hold down the 'Ctrl' key and while holding that key down, then press the '+' key. The 'Ctrl' and '-' keys will reduce the text size.

b) The VIP documents are formatted for legal-size paper (8-1/2" x 14"). When you print, be sure to change the setting on your printer to "legal" or "8-1/2 x 14". Otherwise the document will be greatly reduced and will be very difficult to read.

c) Check back frequently! Candidates are still sending in surveys past the deadlines we gave them. As a result, we are updating the individual VIPs on a regular basis.

My candidate(s) didn't respond!

A number of candidates did not resond to WFC's survey. In order to help you determine those candidates' positions on important issues, we've provided links (below) to the major party platforms the candidates identify with. For Assembly and State Senate candidates, review the state-level platforms. For presidential and congressional candidates, review the national party platforms.

How to use these VIPS:

1) Determine the Assembly District in which you live. If you do not know your district, type your physical home address into this form on the State Legislature website to find out your Assembly District. If the form link does not work, copy and paste this URL (http://waml.legis.state.wi.us/) into the address box on your browser. If you know your Assembly District number, go directly to the table and get started!

Many Assembly Districts have more than one Congressional District. When you go to the "Who Represents Me" page, be sure to look at the bottom of the page with your information to see which Congressional District you live in. Then you can locate the appropriate one on your Voter Information Publication, if more than one is listed.

2) Click on your Assembly District number in the table below for your district-specific VIP.

3) To read a candidate's qualified responses (indicated by * in the responses), click on the candidate's name at the top of the column. That will link you to that candidate's qualified response (if applicable). Click here to see all qualified responses.

Final thoughts:

—We encourage you to print the VIP, study it and take it with you to the polls on election days.

—After the September 9 primary election, we will edit the VIPs for those districts that had a primary and repost them so you will be prepared for the general election on Tuesday, November 4.

—Remember, even if none of the candidates in your district responded to our survey, the information on the VIP is still very valuable to you.

- You have a list of the names of the candidates who will be on your ballot,

- You have a list of at least some of the issues that can help you make your ballot choices.

- You have basic information about the election.

- You have contact information for the candidates so you can find out where they stand on the issues.
